Meet the tree kangaroo, the adorable kangaroo cousin you’ve probably never heard of

Kangaroos are the famous national animals of Australia, but you certainly haven’t heard the name of a tree kangaroo.

They are so cute that we take them for small animals.

They are found in the mountains and lowland forests of northern Australia, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.

Little is known about this species, which has adapted to live comfortably in trees.

It has indeed evolved to resemble a lemur by strengthening its forelimbs and shortening its legs to facilitate climbing.

Tree-kangaroos are so rare and beautiful that they have achieved some celebrity status.

In 2016, the first captive-bred tree-kangaroo in 36 years was born, offering hope for the population of the species. Isn’t it amazing?

After years of writing in the financial industry, Joe was finally able to focus on the animals he loves.
