Cyclist Finds Abandoned Puppies — And Takes Them To A Safe Place In His Shirt

Earlier this month, while on a training trip to Brazil with a friend, something on the side of the road caught the eye of professional cyclist Tiago Costa Silva.

There, wading through a deep hole, Silva spotted five little puppies.

“They were in a very remote place, very far away,” he said. “Someone dug a hole and left them there to die. They were weak and could not escape.”

Silva and his mate knew they had to help.

After carefully pulling each pup from the Burrow, Silva and his friend offered them water from their bottles.

“They were dying of thirst and hunger,” Silva said. “They just wanted to survive.”

Thanks to the cyclists, the puppies now have hope.

With no other way to get the puppies to safety, Silva and his friend put the puppies in their shirts and took them on a 12-mile return trip.

“It was very emotional,” Silva said.

Upon her return, Silva continued to help the puppies regain their strength.

“I took them home and took care of them,” Silva said.

But he did more than that.

Silva talked about the five puppies he found, and soon each had what they needed most.

“They were all adopted by good people who love animals,” Silva said. “God be praised”.

What started as a heartbreaking scene on a secluded bike path ended in the most enjoyable way imaginable. Saved from death, the future of the puppies has never been so rosy.

“They will have a better life,” Silva said. “I’m sure they will be well taken care of. It makes me so happy.”
